Brigitte-Goes-Live-On-Overwatch-Header

Everyone loves a new characters, even more so when it comes to Blizzard’s hit game, Overwatch. Launched on March 20, Brigitte is the latest Hero to join the game and is more of a hybrid character. She is a fine mix between the support and the tank class as she has the ability to heal allies while still being able to get into the thick of things.

Those who are fans of the game are very familiar with Blizzard’s awesome Origin videos on YouTube, though they have seemed to drop the ball a bit with this new hero as her Origin video is a bit short and in my opinion it’s a bit boring. However, in-game she is an awesome character. I managed to catch a few games with her before writing this article and I must say she is loads of fun to play with, even more so than the last few new characters.

However, she might not be for everyone as she is not the fastest, in reality she is the slowest of the support characters. While you will be losing out in the speed department, you gain a lot in the armor and life department. She can take a lot more of a beating than the other support characters. Added to that she has a heavy-hitting Rocket Flail that can deal damage to multiple enemies at the same time. She also has Whip Shot, which allows her to fling her flail forward and deal damage to a target at a distance. This also knocks the enemy backwards which can be a handy tool when dealing with certain characters that should be kept at an arm’s length at all times. One of my favorite things about Brigitte is the fact that she heals nearby allies while you do damage to your enemies. This means you can get stuck into smashing fools and healing your teammates at the same time.

Brigitte specializes in armor. She can throw Repair Packs to heal teammates, or automatically heal nearby allies when she damages foes with her Flail. Her Flail is capable of a wide swing to strike multiple targets, or a Whip Shot that stuns an enemy at range. When entering the fray, Barrier Shield provides personal defense while she attacks enemies with Shield Bash. Brigitte’s ultimate ability, Rally, gives her a substantial short-term boost of speed and provides long-lasting armor to all her nearby allies.

Some players will be disappointed to hear that Brigitte won’t be launching for Competitive Play until the start of Season 10 as Season 9 is already well under way. This means that she won’t be introduced until the end of April or even the beginning of May 2018. Though, you will still be able to get loads of practice with her in the regular game modes, giving you the edge when she hits the competitive scene.

If you haven’t gotten your hands on Overwatch yet, then I highly recommend that you grab yourself a copy. There are two versions on the market at the moment, the Standard Edition for $39.99 and the Game Of The Year Edition for $59.99. Though if you aren’t too interested in the skins and loot boxes then I would recommend saving the $20 and just getting the Standard Edition.
